Pull the Trigger is a short story written about a twelve year old boy who stands at a moment of decision in his life. He must choose to shoot the younger brother of a rival gang and join his own brother in his gang, or spare the child's life and get rejection from the gang that could have taken him in as a blood brother.
Joel is standing at a pivotal moment in his life. Not yet twelve, he has already witnessed a life that stole away his childhood. Now his brother, Raul, powerful leader of the gang, is watching him as he stands with a pistol in his hand. Joel has to build up the courage to shoot a younger boy, brother to a member of a rival gang, in order to be accepted. Each time he gets ready to pull the trigger, though, he is reminded of the good things that have happened in his life. Especially that of Father Miguel, who rescued him when he was eight and taught him that there were still good people who cared, and he has to hesitate once more, trying to decide what was right and what was wrong.

Joel was suffering immensely with the initiation from each of the Diablos gang members.
Raul (Joel’s older brother, Diablos leader) was not about to cut him any slack either.
Henry Garza (Pedro’s younger brother, Joel’s BMF) was next.
Guadalajara, Mexico. Father Michael ran a Christian school at the mission.
He had tried to keep Joel on a positive life’s path.

A very awesome book cover, & great font/writing style. A very well written gang crime thriller (short story) book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great gang crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series). There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.
